Anti Aliasing - Youcef - 09-09-2010

Is there a way to enable anti-aliasing in Amnesia ?
If it's possible, how do we activate it ?

Not true FSAA, as it is not supported when drawing to texture. (som cards might have a special setting allowing u though)

However, there is Edge Smooth, which is faked FSAA. Try that!

Yes, Edge Smooth is activated and obviously it reduces aliasing, a little.
I've also tried to enable aa in Ati Catalyst Control Center but it didn't work. Anyway thank you for the reply.
Even without aa, the game is still very nice graphically !

I may be hallucinating, but I thought that I improved the game's graphics by disabling edge-smoothing and force-enabling 8xAA in my graphics card settings. Am I mistaken?

What is your graphics card ? Ati or Nvidia ?

Nvidia 9800GTX.

Hey, this seems like a good place to ask this question.

How does HPL2 render images? Is it a fully rendered scene where the whole is rendered for each frame (unlikely for real-time), or is it more like each element is rendered independently and then composited to merge everything into one scene?

More to the point, is it possible to turn off that compositing?

RE: Anti Aliasing - Mina Darsh - 09-20-2012

Replying here because I bumped into it while searching for a way, it appears that FXAA works great with this game. nVidia's driver has it in the settings, don't know about ATI, but there are plenty 'injectors' on the net too that are not too hard to install. (Though Amnesia works with OpenGL and most injectors are written for DirectX, so not sure how to figure that out.)

RE: Anti Aliasing - Wooderson - 09-21-2012

I have made a video about enabling AA and Bloom together. It focuses on doing it in RuneScape, but I think that it may work for other games too. I know that it isn't the best but its something anyways.
