I recommend:

- The Dunwich Horror
Odd family in small town is doing something very strange in a barn.

- Herbert West: Reanimator
Scientist gives life to the dead, zombie mayhem ensues.

- The Shadow Over Innsmouth
A fishing village has some disturbing secrets.

-The Whisperer in Darkness
Man in forest cabin gets nightly attacks by strange being.

Lovecrafts style can be hard to read at times, but the stories are awesome.

If we are here, I might as well recommend the Gutenberg Project: http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page

While it doesn't host "new" books, it hosts all books, and I think Poe is somewhere there.
