But interesting=] RE: 2007-01 Thursday 11th, Two new screens. - piibii - 01-12-2007 I think it's the Depth of Field effect. RE: 2007-01 Thursday 11th, Two new screens. - Dark - 01-12-2007 no then there would be a point on the screen where everything is blurry think it is low quality teaser screens :d RE: 2007-01 Thursday 11th, Two new screens. - timonator - 01-12-2007 it is (imo) the DOF effect, you can see the rock in the middle of the screen - it's pretty clear (may just be my eyes, tho) RE: 2007-01 Thursday 11th, Two new screens. - Guest - 01-13-2007 Very nice, are the light-ray effects in the 2nd screen done using billboards or just transparent meshes? RE: 2007-01 Thursday 11th, Two new screens. - Dark - 01-13-2007 in the first screen it is DOF indeed (altough its not a rock but a monster ) and about the light rays i dont know what do you mean with bilboards btw? :$ RE: 2007-01 Thursday 11th, Two new screens. - Guest - 01-13-2007 Dark_Raver Wrote:in the first screen it is DOF indeed (altough its not a rock but a monster ) Billboard is like a 2D image in 3D space. Remember the first early 3D games, how on some with grass or a bush, you could walk around it, but it wouldn't really be 3D, it is just like a 2D image of grass/bush that is constantly facing the camera. Great example is in Doom, those explosive barrels. Rock Lobster!!! RE: 2007-01 Thursday 11th, Two new screens. - Dark - 01-13-2007 oooh, you mean sprites :p i dont think that are sprites, maybe just volumetric light or a map hack (like in HL) RE: 2007-01 Thursday 11th, Two new screens. - Thomas - 01-13-2007 Just to clear things up. Both images have depth of field and the rays are billboards (axis aligned to be specific). And yeah, we like dof |
