aamfp.exe caused an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module... - HuoYanjia - 12-14-2018

Greetings FRICTIONAL GAMES:

I am filing a report for AMNESIA : A MACHINE FOR PIGS because it suddenly stopped working on my PC. It not even launches anymore. The version i possess is the steam version.

The exception reason the launcher states is the following:
aamfp.exe caused an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module atioglxx.dll at 0023:69886A49,DrvPresentBuffers()+11844745 bytes(s)

I have added the hp.log and launcher.log as well in this thread for further info you need.

My systems specs are:

Windows 8.1. SL
RAM installed: 16 GB RAM
GPU: ATI RADEON R9 200 with 2GB of GDDR5 VRAM
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770 running at 3.40Ghz.

Hope this reaches you well and I will be at wait for a positive response about his matter.

I did. It doesn´t work.

Strange, I don't see a reason why it crashes. Can you start the settings launcher, set the graphics to low and disable fullscreen?
Try then to start the game and give another hpl.log file.

Sure. I gave the try and the game still crashes.
Here are the log files.
Oh and by the way, the launcher no longer gives me a state for the crash, it stops responding (freezes when reaching 29% of system information) and has to be forcefully closed.

Still nothing. How odd. I can only suggest reinstalling the graphics drivers, or perhaps reinstall the game as well. You say it suddenly stopped working, so it worked before? Maybe your drivers had a bad update.

I reintalled the game and updated the drivers, and still nothing.
Yeah. It is strange, and regarding your last question, Yes, the game was working before. I don´t know. what is going on.

I noted on my hp. log the following entry:

"WARNING: Could not find language file entry 'WelcomeMessage05'"

Could be that the reason why the game is not starting?

I don't think so because I've seen others with that error message who claim it didn't crash, but we can try to fix it anyway.
It should be an entry within the english.lang file in the config folder. The game can't find it so maybe it's not actually there, but it ought to be.

If you use ctrl-f or so in that file (open with Notepad++ or similar) then search for WelcomeMessage04 or 01. Copy that line (including the opening and closing tag) and rename it to 05. Save and see if it helps.

Well, I took a look to both english.lang and base_english.lang files and I couldn´t find any of the WelcomeMessage files. Is it possible that could be hte issue? If it does, How can I fix it?
