What I've noticed is that I don't even need the folder location. It seems to be able to find the map file, as long as the .cfg says the name of the map file.
For example, "bedroom_01.map" is a test level I work on to try out new skills. I don't need to have a folder location for it to show up in the Custom Story menu.
