ATDD screen closes silently under Ubuntu 18.04 (Steam) - temmokan - 08-09-2020
Trying to start ATDD under Steam running on Ubuntu 18.04.
Graphic card used: NVIDIA GeForce GT 730, using proprietary nvidia-driver-440.
After reading in "Look Here Before Posting", in "Known issues", in Steam community forum for ATDD, I found no clues on how to troubleshoot that.
/tmp is NOT mounted with noexec, game is installed in writable location (under standard Steam directory under home directory), re-installing the game doesn't change anything.
I would appreciate pieces of advice on how to make the game start.

Hey, sorry to hear you're having issues! Could you please see if the game has generated a log file, and post it here?

Looks like there's a solution.
In the ATDD's properties, I changed "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool" to "Proton 5.0-9".
Game stopped crashing and works, so far, normally.
Perhaps you can advise that to other players who happen to have the same problem.
