RE: Isle - narked - 07-20-2011 i started this and I just love how scary it is, but I can't continue it :S it's too damn scary. I'll give it another shot later RE: Isle - Unearthlybrutal - 07-20-2011 Nice one RE: Isle - Tanshaydar - 07-22-2011 Hey Kurton, I must say I really loved the atmosphere you created. Although it's very short, it's still beautiful. I want a larger story from you. RE: Isle - Brennenburg - 07-23-2011 Trying now. EDIT: Just finished it. It was amazing and shocking! I must say well done Kurton! Bravo! RE: Isle - RawkBandMan - 07-24-2011 (07-18-2011, 08:41 PM)Cryaotic Wrote:(07-18-2011, 08:39 PM)MrCookieh Wrote: A very nice custom story! Spoiler below!
RE: Isle - MooseTheScared - 07-25-2011 Just finished the story, and I must say I was more scared than playing the original Amnesia, so good job! I enjoyed In Memory very much as well, it's wonderful that you managed to create stories so different in atmosphere, yet both so good. Well, I have 100mb internet connection from one of the best companies in my country RE: Isle - AlexxShadenk777 - 07-26-2011 My first thoughts were "I'm taking the roll of a prisoner and my oil gauge is full? Huh." But then I was like "Very nice BGM." Seriously, your soundtrack choices were brilliant, they were in every way perfect and added a lot to the atmosphere. What was a little distracting however, was how eloquent and poetic the writing in every note is. It's kinda weird. It is a prison or dungeon of sorts, and I don't doubt that there are prisoners or wardens that can write well, but it gets a little ridiculous when everyone writes this well. It's fantastic that you are such a good writer, but there are various degrees of writing for every person. Keyword here is balance. Level design is great, too, it felt like the Cambodian temple in Eternal Darkness, even more so when considering the.. sighting at the end of this demo. Perhaps you should've forced the player by jumping in, or at least shut the door behind you. It'd have been a bit more dramatic. There were probably a bit too many keys. It felt a bit too linear when you're just following the same path of having only two-three doors to pick from, only one of them is unlocked, which leads to a key to the second door, which leads to the key to the third door, and so forth. This does make sense, considering that you're in a prison though, but breaking this cycle would be good. Overall excellent work. If it weren't just a demo (short) I would compare it to the main game, seriously. You had really good design decisions, and the notes you left around were pleasant to read, even considering the awkwardness of every single one of them being so well... uh, formatted, if I can say that. RE: Isle - Dizturbed - 08-03-2011 Can I ask you a question if I can then here it comes: Do you use boxlights to make it a bit more brighter? I really want that tip :L -Dizturbed RE: Isle - Kurton - 08-03-2011 I don't use any box lights, just an assortment of lamps, point lights and very scarce spotlights, if that's what you're asking. |
