Is it possible to edit the .snt sound files in a program like Audacity? I've tried searching the internet, but I can't find anything about it.

The .snt file is just a settings file for the actuall sound file. For example:
if you want the change volume etc for sound01.ogg you need the sound01.snt
Copy a random .snt file and place it in the same folder as your .ogg file and rightclick on the .snt file and edit with notepad++ or wordpad.

Almost all files used in amnesia can be opened with a text editor. .ent, .mat, .config, .snt, .ps, etc and their properties can be changed but in most cases the editors (model editor: .ent, material editor - .mat, particle edtior - .ps, etc) work the best. Just a little tip for you
