Suggestion for use of the mic - trens - 08-03-2011

I am not sure if anyone suggested this, sorry if it has.

Every single person I know that gets into this game makes some sort of audible sound over and over again.

Why not let the game, optional, read the input of the players mic so that the creature could hear the breathing and whimpering the player makes.

I know when I am extremely scared of someone hearing me I have to hold my breath.

That would be a totally awesome feature, but the idea has some flaws. Not everyone has microphones, and if one did, all you'd have to do is either unplug it (if it's external) or just shut it off in Control Panel (if it's built-in).

So it'd only work for a small majority, as I'm sure most people would make sure to keep their microphones off.

A thing like that could also be used to distract the monsters. It would be funny to taunt them to make them chase you. Like this:
Me: "Hey as*hole, come here"
Grunt: "ROAR!" *starts chasing me*
Me: "lol" *enters a level door*

If you enable this feature and then unplug your microphone, why do you enable it in the first place? XD.

I was writing under the assumption that the feature would be always on.
