Tried validating files? Steam usually offers that when you right click on the game(there might be other settings). If that does'nt work i'd suggest trying out the Steam forum, the Steam people should...

There are some barrels in the corner, grab them and make yourself a "safe spot", should you hear growling, or anything scary, hide behind them. I gotta admit, I was very scared to enter the prison.....
