RE: Dishonored or A Machine For Pigs?

AMFP is probably only going to be $20 as FG's games usually are. Surely you can save up, beg or steal $20 and get both? I could understand if both games were $60 but it's around $80 for two games, which is manageable (though expensive).

How much do you think the price of AMFP will be? Just wondering.

As of September 2nd, 2014, I've left the Frictional forums. Check my profile for more details.

I could definitely afford $20. If it was too expensive I'd just do some work for money.

So what's the problem? Because it's a gift? Well, if that's the case you really just need to decide for yourself. Dishonored is getting great reviews, and probably the most cynical person on this forum praised the hell out of it, and it is in good hands. AMFP however is very hush-hush at the moment, thechineseroom are a controversial developer at best and you would have to wait 3-4 months. Seems to me like the choice is obvious. If you can afford $20 you can always buy AMFP at launch.

I'm getting a card to redeem on Steam as a gift, so I'll have to think on it. Dishonored looks really great, and AMFP is kind of shady at the moment. I think I'll get Dishonored if there's no pre-order opportunity or release date announced by Christmas, as it is only October.

I can't choose both, and I can only have one. I've been wanting Dishonored, but Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs has me excited. I'd get to play Dishonored now but I'd have to wait to play A Machine For Pigs.

So, what is your opinion? Which one should I get?
Buy Dishonered now, make some money (You probably have a job) and then buy Amnesia a machine for pigs once it's out!

It won't be 60 euros, dollars or pounds.. AAMFP will be around 20.

Have fun gaming! Big Grin

And we're not likely to until after AAMFP is released:

Well with a discount on the Penumbra series and Amensia TDD it there might still be a Halloween release.

Don't get too exited though as it may be just coincidence.

I'd be extremely surprised if AAMFP was released this Halloween after the announcement that they wanted to spend more time to perfect it.

Also, in a tweet on 3rd October, Dan Pinchbeck tweeted:

"Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs update: appx two thirds of the levels are finished. Currently working on exterior levels and a giant abattoir"
