Pacifist? Daniel's goal from the start is to find and murder Alexander for revenge. Him not fighting back against monsters is not because he's a nice guy (well maybe he is) but because he doesn't have anything at his disposal. Also he tortured and murdered a ton of people to save his own skin prior to the game start.

Amnesia is set in germany.
It's the reason why all items in the game are adjust to german.

The book calls "Pflanzenreich", this means to english: "World of plants"
So the game is set in a part of prussia what is germany now.

And you also will find hints of some german towns.

This is not correct. We've already established Brennenburg is in what is now Poland. German was spoken in Prussia before it became Germany which is why the book title is in German.

RE: Interesting post about Amnesia!

In 1839 prussia was a german kingdom, so Amnesia takes place on german ground.
Prussia was grown by Friedrich III of Brandenburg.

I also remember some towns like Berlin, Brandenburg when reading a secret note.

RE: Interesting post about Amnesia!

I searched the .lang file and found nothing about either Berlin nor Brandenburg, unless it was mentioned during a flashback you're just remembering it wrong.

However I found this:
Spoiler below!

<Entry Name="Note_CH01L03_VillageTales_Name">Local Folklore</Entry>
<Entry Name="Note_CH01L03_VillageTales_Text">Altstadt and Brennenburg Castle 1801
Another region rich with lore is Altstadt, deep within the East Prussian woods. For centuries there have been stories surrounding the hamlet and its neighbor, castle Brennenburg. The quiet forest-clad mountains dressed with scattered lakes is as picturesque as can be, albeit the area is haunted by the dark. Ask any local and you will hear proof of the widespread superstition. All travelers should indulge themselves in such conversations since it will certainly serve as exciting entertainment. All of them have their own twists on the tales, but there are some motifs that keep reappearing.(...)

EDIT Also I found this: "I looked up Brennenburg and traced it to the Prussian woods near the Baltic Sea"

Socialism (noun): A great way to run out of other people's money.

There are maps of Prussia in the game, though obviously they don't point out where in Prussia Brennenburg is. IIRC they're in the Study.

The Amnesia Wiki says Castle Brennenburg is most likely in northeastern Poland or Konigsberg which is in what is now Little Russia:

Which means it's not even close to Germany. Without confirmation from the developers it's impossible to say for sure, but it does say it's deep within the East Prussian woods which would mean it's somewhere right of the modern Polish borders.
