New Statue Help

New Statue Help

I've been trying, off and on, on my own to get a statue(s) from Penumbra Requiem. This screenshot shows what the statue is: http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/0/911..._48_07.jpg

Now I have Blender, but it's lousy with Penumbra/Amnesia stuff. This statue is part of the whole level, so when I cropped it to just the statue it had no textures. I have been unable to texture it. Would a better program keep its textures to begin with? Can any one you help convert it or give me advice?

Not sure how you "cropped" it in Blender, but if you simply deleted vertices, it shouldn't have lost its UV coordinates.

This covers how converting penumbra models to amnesia. Hope this helps. In case it isn't the solution, maybe you can export the whole level and then erase everything except the statue.

Well, keep calm and statue pls. There must be something you can do. If the statue is from the level... can you open a penumbra level with the level editor? Or with the model editor? (the maps are .dae). I think you should export every content from penumbra to amnesia's folders, and then check with model editor the level. One day I opened with the model editor a level from penumbra: overture, but the only file I had were a pile of papers (and only that pile of papers were in the model editor). Maybe the editor couldn't find the level files.
So, maybe you can do something with the model editor Wink

I will have to open the original level 1 and see what happens. If there is still no textures, then the Amnesia editor can't see the Penumbra textures.

I hadn't thought of that, I could try that and see what happens.

EDIT: I copied some Requiem Level 1 textures into a new Amnesia folder. I then open the Rock Worm statue in the ModelEditor and set its material/texture into one of the textures. I was surprised to see the model disappear! It's still there, but unless I click on it I can't see it. I may have to pause on using the statue in a story until I can get it to work (or just make a story without it).

What? It disappeared? Weird thing. But i mean loading the level in the model editor and putting every single thing that can be in the level (textures, models, etc) in your amnesia folder, so the editor can load them. Or... did you made a .mat file of the textures?

I copied the Penumbra textures, which included a .mat file.
