I'm new in this forum so: Greetings to all! Smile

I have a question about system req.

I have these specs:
- OS: Win7
- Processor: i5-3450 CPU 3.10 GHz
- RAM: 8 GB
- GPU: ATI Radeon 5870 HD
- HD Space: 300+ GB

I have a good Hardware for this game ,except the GPU that does not exceed the recommended requirements (ATI 6x00 or better) but only the minimum (ATI 5x00 or better).

So my question is: How can I run this game? High settings? Mid-High settings? Mid settings?

Thanks in advance Smile

The "minimum" requirements state mid-range 5xx0 series AMD cards. Yours is an older high-end card so as Kreekakon said you shouldn't have any problems running the game at high.

The reason I think the requirements state the 5xx0 series as a minimum is because AMD releases new drivers from this generation and onwards. Everything below is considered "legacy" for AMD so the drivers are outdated, go figure.

I think the 6000 series is pretty much just a rebranded 5000 series anyway, but with a few fixes.

Is the game going to have an included benchmark? Or a separate benchmark available for download? I feel like that would alleviate some people's worries.

I highly doubt that. There won't be a demo as well.

Windows 7, OS X 10.7.5, Major Linux Distribution from 2012. - Good their

High-range NVIDIA GeForce 5x0 / AMD Radeon HD 6xx0. - Have a nvidia 660 ti, so this will definitely be fine.

Intel Core i7/AMD FX CPU or equivalent. - This is my main concern, although I'm pretty sure my computer will run the game at max, I only have a intel i5 3570k although it is overclocked to 4.2 ghz (not i7)

4 GB RAM. - 8 gigs or ram, will be safe here

5 GB Free hard disk space. - Yes

You'll be absolutely ok. I'd wager you can max out the game very easily.

Seriously? Cmon... lol. Very high 1080p 60fps easily.

You mean you only have one of the best gaming CPUs available? And you're concerned you won't be able to play Amnesia? You guys are funny :3

Your cpu is one of the best, don't worry. Full details all the way.

In my opinion the requirements should say i3 for minimum and i5 for maximum.

Hello,

Here are my specs :

Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4ghz
3GB DDR2 RAM
ATI Radeon HD 7750 GDDR5 1go

The Dark Descent was running well on the same PC just with a Nvidia Quadro FX 1500 (256mb).

Your CPU is fairly old, and I'm concerned it might be bottlenecking your GPU just a bit.

If I had to wager I'd guess that you could run the game on medium, maybe a bit higher.
