Heard?
I bet you heard 4 was not a Silent Hill game at all?
Really, some games couldn't be judged by hearing.

I heard 4 pretty much sucked, at least as a scary game.

Like resident evil 4.

Well, my appetite is not common. So saying "I liked it!" will not validate anything.

RE: Amnesia killed the horror genre

I played both Amnesia and Penumbra (complete trilogy). They are very intense and horrifying games. In my opinion Penumbra is a bit creepier, but Amnesia has the better story and atmosphere.

I wouldn't say this games 'ruined' the horror genre for me. They had it's scary moments, but in other games like Silent Hill there were parts which scared the hell out of me, where the games from Frictional just scared me sometimes, and much less. Just a few moments when enemies suddenly rushed out of a corner really shocked me, but most of the time it was just running through dark areas and solving some puzzles of various difficulties.
But great games anyway, really worth buying! Smile

It's just me or someone else don't feel scared while playing silent hill?

Maybe you were so scared that you just don't want to remember it.

You misused ironic so freaking horribly! Damn dude, learn English! Irony is a great literary tool but I seldom see it used properly...

Also, there is a nearly Identical thread posted (by me Tongue) just a few days ago...

I totally agree though, impossible to play anything else that calls itself "scary"! However, Penumbra is way scarier as pointed out by HamStar. Amnesia is scary, but anyone who says Amnesia is scarier has not played Penumbra. Amnesia, however, is a better overall game. (well i prefer the penumbras because of the scares, so I think they're better, but Amnesia is "better")
i agree with you!
