[ART] .mat not found!

Ok so I made a new texture and placed it on the desktop to test it. In the level editor, I used primitives, plane and found the texture in the desktop and it worked. I decide to place the texture inside the custom story folder inside a textures folder. I go back to level editor and when I place the plane and go to select the texture in the textures folder, it wont appear! I went back to the folder to make sure I copied it in the right place and I did! Please help me!
