That's what I tried first, what the hell?
I would recommend doing this to get the player up the hatch. I use it in one of my own maps:
void CollideAreaLadderUp(string &in asParent, string &in asChild, int alState)

PlayGuiSound("player_climb.snt", 0.5f);
FadeOut(0.5f);
AddTimer("teleport", 0.5f, "TimerTeleport");
}
