Yes, paint will do fine, i almost always use it.
The size must be a 2x2, or 64x64 or 1024x1024 for example.
Whats works to is 1024 x512 for example.
Try it out yourself.
Its quite easy to do.
Transparancy is to see on youtube.

If you see black and white squares those will be invicible in game like pictures or text or anyghing at all you create.
