I think you could achieve a more realistic sound by upping both the attack and the release on the sampler device for the slower bits, it gives a neat kind of legato flow to string instruments from what I've tried. Great piece anyway, I admire that you refrain from overly repetitive motifs/themes like a lot of other musicians here seem to get hung up with.

It definitely makes a lot of sense to do that in this context but for some reason it makes these samples sound even less realistic. Honestly I think they sound pretty acceptable as is, it's no substitute for a real violin but the reverb (I'm worried it may be too thick actually) compensates for that adequately.
