Help Unwrapping a Curved model

Unwrapping models a lot of times still doesn't make much sense to me, even if your suppose to unwrap like it like an animal skin or clothing materials.

I can't find much tutorials on this type of model I'm doing, everything seems to be mostly of characters with a few oddballs like this.

(1) Top view, the UV's are ok.

(2) Bottom view.

(3) Wire-frame mode.

(5) So any tips on how to actually unwrap the darn model?

(6) And if this was the best that you could possibly do, how would I go around texturing say a line of bricks around where it curves (Top side) properly?

If I was just to take a seamless repeating brick texture and apply it, it would warp really funky around it atm.
