RE: Kids & The Internet

I personally don't see the problem with underage children on the Internet as long as they're mature enough to handle the content. If they frequently trash talk and flame, it's usually a sign that they aren't aged enough to communicate on the Internet in a polite and respectful fashion.

Take a look at YouTube. Most popular gaming videos have flame wars in the comments section. Viewing the demographic of the uploading channels (take PewDiePie for instance) usually has the highest viewer base thirteen to seventeen years of age. Because the younger demographic is usually less mature than the adult demographic, they compete constantly over petty and trivial things, like "It's a Minecraft clone!".

To sum up my thoughts: I don't have a problem with children on the Internet if they're mature enough to be respectful and handle the explicit content on some websites. However, only a handful of kids on the Web are mature and therefore this is hard to come across.

As of September 2nd, 2014, I've left the Frictional forums. Check my profile for more details.
