I also have to say that the controls are laughable. I've tried twice to play the game, both times ending the same way... Getting annoyed by the controls + few other things which have always plagued the whole series.

As much as I love the second Gothic, I cannot say the same about the first. It may be good game, but for me it's very hard to get hold of the controls. Maybe I'll force myself someday to play it through.
