Are you sure you manually deleted all the full conversion files that remained in the Amnesia The Dark Descent directory after uninstalling the game? And only then reinstalled?

I'm not talking about the folder in the Documents directory, where the save files and personal user settings are kept, although you might want to delete that one too, to have a completely clean installation. But keep in mind that you will lose all your saves - you can make a backup.

From where is the version of the game you own? Steam?
