Doesn't it spoil the fun if they give out the game mechanics? It makes it more like just a "go-here-do-that" game instead of an experience imo.

That piece of information was not actually part of the store page initially. It was posted by Scott just today. I assume he only did it because there were a great deal of people who were extremely confused as to how this mechanic worked and could not progress.

Sure it's fun to figure out things for yourself, but my guess is that the ratio here of people who eventually understood and those who never could was leaning so far in one direction that Scott realized it might be something he needed to come out and address.
