I have a new laptop, an HP Pavilion dv6000. It has the requirements to run Penumbra. Vista, 1.87gigs of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150.

The requirements are here:
OS: Windows 2000/XP
Processor: 1Ghz
Memory: 256MB
Disc Space: 300MB free(for demo)
Video Card: Radeon 8500/GeForce 3

Yet when I try to play the game it is incredibly slow. The movies run fine, the audio is okay... it's just it lags so much graphically. So I tried setting everything on the lowest level on the game's graphics menu. It helped, but only slightly.

What's going on?

your ram; I believe penumbra needs 500 ram to work.
Turn your resolution in the game down to 600x700 or whatever it is (not 600x800, there's a resolution below that one)
I switched to that one, and it really helped it me. Try shutting down background tasks that you aren't using, and try running a defragment on your computer.

Please -REP me.
Honestly, please do. I want to see how low I can go!!
Ignore that error message too. Just ignore it and keep going to give me -rep.
