That's not what I meant. I said that money can help someone along to produce higher quality stuff, be it the motivation to do better to actually get the money or just the desire to produce better things, it's still the money that is the driving factor. The individual desire is different from rewarding performance, and what you said about that is true. I think we misunderstood each other.

What makes it hard to understand you is that you nevertheless conclude that money is the driving factor. I would agree that one should not confuse the path to greatness with the cost of greatness, but your conclusion does not follow from your premises.

Some people are motivated by the thought of money.

Why do you think smart people want good qualifications? So they can get the best earning job they can.

You have to face, the more money you have, the more luxurious life you can afford.

YC, it would be nice if money wasn't something to live for but it is and always will be in the society.
