[Demo] - Parasomnia - Total Conversion

A Total Conversion mod by James Clarke

SYNOPSIS

You are Jack Conway, a former Detective Inspector and veteran of the Great War, now working as a Private Investigator.

Jack was born in 1880, an only child. He grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, where he underwent a violent and disruptive upbringing due to the excessive alcohol and gambling habits of his father, his mother died during childbirth.

As a direct result of his abusive childhood and traumatic experiences during the war; not long after he was posted home, Jack developed an acute parasomnia condition, somnambulism (sleep walking) often accompanied by vicious night terrors.

You are currently assigned to nearby Providence, Rhode Island assisting the local police with a recent problematic case; a string of unexplained disappearances, most of whom are young women.

One stormy night, you suddenly awaken in the cellar of a strange house, your whereabouts unknown. Can you piece together this puzzle and escape unscathed?

Are these events even real...

...Or some kind of sick nightmare?

AMNESIA 1.2 PATCH (JUSTINE) REQUIRED!!!

Installation:
Extract the contents to your main Amnesia folder, where the Amnesia.exe file is.
Then simply launch the Parasomnia.cmd file.

Damn good mapping i must say, really impressive.

Atmosphere was terrifying and creepy overall amazing demo.

I'm using my project too that "Interacting with door then player says something "It won't budge, It's locked" kind of thing. I really like it, fits really good.

Can't wait full release man! Big Grin

The level of detail and the level desing of the first level was amazing! I never got bored, and was constantly progressing in the map so it kept the gameplay intresting. Also, great use of the monster there! It really slowed things down, when it lurked around there almost the whole time with me! Big Grin

Thanks guys I really appreciate it. It really means a lot, especially coming from other modders who have impressive works of their own and I'm glad you enjoyed it Smile

@HumiliatioN - I agree, I think spoken words are more immersive than on screen messages and Call of Cthulhu was really ideal for that purpose.

@JMFStorm - Originally, I had the monster turn into a poofer after the first encounter, then I thought it would be cool for him to roam the house looking for the player.

Forgot to mention earlier, if anyone finds any bugs in my demo, please let me know, I've gone over it so many times but it can be easy to miss things.

I've got some solid ideas now for the next map, which will be a sewer level Cool

Heh... When I opened editor and noticed this house map looked really weird "stairs everywhere lmao" I think reason is I don't have these "modified textures" etc. that's why it's so messed up in the editor. Big Grin It's really funny look this map and see many stairs placed "inside modified walls" if you know what i mean Tongue

@HumiliatioN - Yeah, it will do that. You have to add the Parasomnia folder into Amnesia's resources.cfg file to see everything correctly in the Level Editor Wink
