Usually, when people say graphics card. They are referring to the ones that you plug into a PCIe slot or something of similar function

If your laptop has an MXM graphics card then yes but you need to find exactly a compatible one and in general, for someone without knowledge is not easy at all.

Of course you can sell your laptop. You don't need to ask us that. But you may be taking a risk. Say you sell your laptop and STILL don't have enough money for a new computer. Then you have some money and no computer. So be careful
