First wall set

Here's a couple of pics of that wall set I was making, a window piece. Its my first Maya model aside from the walls I was making in the other thread, so its a bit rough in places and needs some work on the texturing, but hopefully as I improve I can make some more wall sets and hopefully more complex objects to expand on the mansionbase! By the way, is it possible to turn on anti aliasing in any of the editors?

That texture looks really creepy... What a nice small house you could make of it...

Trying is the first step to success.

Holy shit! Your grimey details are wonderful. I would absolutely love to see a talented storywriter get to work with these. Walls of this quality need a story that matches them. Smile

RE: First wall set

Thanks guys, I'm working on a story with a kind of resident evil 1 house in mind, hopefully it won't take me too long to make a few sets of these to use for that Smile Actually some great images for inspiration for a mansion themed set are from the resident eVil remake on the gamecube. Just type resident evil remake into google images, there's a ton of cool environments in that game.

RE: First wall set

Just saying, you made a different material and texture for the window itself, right? It's transparent while the whole wall isn't Wink

RE: First wall set

Yeah I had to make a glass material, is it bad to use another material on the same object?

Edit - I mean its a different object, but the same wall object?

Looks nice, I like it. I'm interested in seeing you expand on this!

RE: First wall set

very nice. I like the tones you used for the wall. as well as this old and rotten feel to it... the texture seem a bit pixelated though, but that might just the the screenshot's quality.

Any how it looks very intriguing and I can't wait this in-game!

Danny - Thanks, yeah the textures are sharper in Maya, I think it might just be the modelView, hopefully looks better when I get them in game Smile

RE: First wall set

Here's another wall I made tonight, screenshots out of Maya. Only the diffuse on it at the moment, its about 340 tri's, more than double the standard walls I think... the horror in my story will be the framerate, lol
