Computer shuts down after some minutes

Hello.
My problem is, that my computer is going off when playing some games like Dear Esther, The Witcher 2, NFS Shift 2, Dirt, Among the Sleep etc.

That doesn't has anything todo with the graphics. Dirt for example is from 2006 and it's shutting down my computer even when I play on low resolution and details. My PC is powerfull enough, there is no stuttering on high graphics, but the PC just going off as I would cut the power cable.
There is no error message! After one minute of waiting I can turn my PC on again. I already cleaned my PC from dust, removed all components!

Amnesia TDD doesn't cause this problem.
So my question is, how much thechineseroom modified the engine. Are there new shaders, or multithread tasks? Did they add some programming features of Dear Esther?

I don't want that my PC turns off when playing AMFP.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 4x 2,83 GHz
4 GB DDR2-RAM800 Dual Channel
nVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti
550W BeQuiet! power supply

In short: Is the engine more like TDD or like Dear Eshter? What is different to TDD, what are the engine updates?

I don't want to buy a new PC, because my current one is powerfull enough. What could be the problem?

RE: Question about AMFP engine updates.

That can be caused by overheating, or wrong overclocking settings. Do you overclock your processor or graphics card for gaming?

Edit: typo

Yes, overheating is my guess as well. I've heard the on-board CPU fans have a short life span generally. Download SpeedFan and see if your CPU or GPU go dangerously high (>70 c I guess, you will see a red arrow pointing up and then a picture of flames) and also check to see if your fans are actually running.

OK, thank you, I will test my temperatures. I do not overclock my system.

RE: Question about AMFP engine updates.

Most probably you have forgotten to apply thermal paste to the cpu and it shuts down because of overheating. Or the cpu fan is not working. Moved to offtopic and changed title since this has nothing to do with AAMFP.

I do not have forgotten thermal paste. My computer is mount correctly and free of dust. My bios shows me CPU temperatures of 79°C after I turned my computer on again. I think it was over 80°C in a game. But why Amnesia doesn't cause the problem while Among the sleep or Dear Esther do?

Normally this thread was meant for AAMFP about engine updates, perhaps FG would say something about it.

I have to buy a new PC now, waiting for Haswell CPUs.

80°C idle is way,way too much. Especially for a non-overclocked cpu. It should be 40 or similar. Believe me, you have overheating issues. Your cooler may not be sited correctly or the fan is not working properly(too low RPM or not at all).

This does not have to do with the pigs, no matter what you run your computer will shut down to prevent hardware damage due to overheating.

I've had problems with overheating a few times before. Have you ever noticed reduced performance(of any kind) in games after some playtime? Download everest and see if your Temp increases drastically whenever your core voltage multiplier goes up. Also, have you ever had your computer freeze, blue screens, heard rattling or the hard drive shutting down with an accentuated noise?

Today I dreamt the life I could live forever. You only know that when you feel it for you know not what you like until you've experienced it.

What he describes it a typical overheating problem. He doesn't have to do all these really. If at bios idle the cpu is that high, hardware inspection must be done at cpu cooler.

I think I have to check if the fan is rotating correctly.
I never noticed performance issues, there is no error message or blue screen, the PC just turns off as I would cut the power cable.

But I can play Amnesia without issues.

//edit: The fan seems to work correctly. And in the bios I set RPM to max performance, but that doesn't solve the problem.
