Amnesia: A cookbook of fear - a Halloween video/review

Hey folks.

It's Halloween and this year I wanted to make something special. So I went back in time to explore the Horror aspects of the Amnesia games and what I find interesting and fascinating about them. I hope you forgive me that shameless self-advertisement but I wanted to share it with the fans of the game(s).
I hope you enjoy it. And feel free to leave Feedback.

P.S. I'd suggest to watch the video in Fullscreen since some scenes are probably hard to make out in window mode.

Indeed, great work. Very impressive and a perfect way to present the games for what they really are. Keep it up! Smile

Hey guys,

Wow, thank you for all your feedback. I was really excited to share this video with you guys. And since you all know these games very well AND you like the video, that's really an honour for me.

I just wished I could have done a bit better. You know... having footage without tearing and better quality (my recording program didn't pick up the ingame gamma setting so I had to brighten in editing) and better video equipment for a believable Greenscreen effect. But I tried to compensate. Matched me up with the ingame footage as good as possible. Light flickering, color tone - I even tried to emulate Daniels wibble-wobble-vision.

So yeah I was really worried you'd just laugh at it.

Thank you so much guys.

No, the work you've done is great. The greenscreen effect looks very good and I find it funny that Daniels looks like he turns his head towards you when you speak. The only negative thing I noticed is tearing as you said. vSync would have helped with that but no biggie! Smile

Never heard anyone say the build-up in the beginning is bad, interesting

I really liked your insight about how the first time you get a health potion is the exact same time you realise you're in real danger. I'd never thought of that before, but on a subconscious level it must have driven home the sense of vulnerability even more. Like "OK, now I have a health potion, and I just saw a monster down the hall; I gotta be extra careful from here on!"

You had a surprising number of fresh things to say about a 3-year-old game.
