Call of Cthulhu issues.

Ran into a serious bug in CoC.

Spoiler below!

I'm at the point where you need to turn the valves in the refinery to release the gas onto Shoggoth. I picked up the wrench, but every time I go to turn the valves, I get stuck in cut-scene mode and can't use the wrench to turn the others on. I've installed the patch and played with the user controls, but it doesn't help. The only other option I see is to delete my saved game and start over, but I'd like to try everything before I resort to something that drastic.

I've checked the steam boards and it seems to be the only option left. ;_;
Has anyone here encountered this issue?

RE: Call of Cthulhu issues.

Hi,

I played the game a while ago and didn't have this issue. But there will be an issue later in the game when you are on a ship and have to use the cannon to shoot the lights. A bug makes the lights invisible. But I have a patch for this!

Sure you are playing correctly? Or do you miss something?

Seems I may not get a chance to get to that bug, lol.
Like I said, I got the patch and poked around the steam boards a bit. There were a few others that had this problem, but wound up having to restart the whole game. I was hoping there was another way, but I guess I'm out of luck there.

Such an awesome game, but there are some serious game breakers going on.

Thank you, but I've already tried all of those. No dice.

You say you stuck in the cut scene. Which cut scene do you mean and isn't there a way to skip it?

It was just using the wrench to turn on the gas. Unfortunately, it can't be skipped over. The black borders on the top and bottom of the screen don't disappear and I can't turn the other valves. I've tried different orders, angles, saving my controller settings, and waiting it out.

RE: Call of Cthulhu issues.

I have a bundle of fixes for the game. Mainly there are optimizations like FOV correction, workaround for the ship level, removed letterboxes of cut-scenes and some more... but probably the new files will also take a good effect to your problem (for some changes you need to start a new game or level to take effect). Just extract the archive and copy the both folders "Engine" and "Scripts" to the game directory and replace the existing files.

You should try this and play the game with admin rights.

Download: http://www.file-upload.net/download-8643...es.7z.html

Otherwise try running the game with one single cpu core.
