Model import error

Yo guys.

I get an error when trying to use the "import mesh" option in the model editor and it crashes.

Here's the error:
Cache out of date! Reloading collada file 'C:/Program Files (x86)/Amnesia - The Dark Descent/redist/entities/In_the_night/Tash_Can/Trash_Can.dae'

WARNING: No 'extra scene' element found!

RE: Model import error

The textures for your Trash_Can.dae file cannot be created.

Yea kinda realized that, but I have no idea how to fix it.

RE: Model import error

You can create it yourself. Just make the texture .dds, apply it to model in your 3D modelling program and then open the .dae in the ModelViewer.

That's what I did.

My texture is in .tga, but that's the only difference.

RE: Model import error

You should make it .dds, although it should still load fine with .tga. Did you export your model correctly? What program? Maya?

Can you open it fine in the Model Viewer, rather than the Model Editor?

I use 3DS max.

I'm pretty sure I exported it correctly.

And no, it crashes the Model Viewer too.

Edit: It still crashes but now I get this message :

"Cache out of date! Reloading collada file 'C:/Program Files (x86)/Amnesia - The Dark Descent/redist/entities/In_the_night/Tash_Can/Trash_Can.dae'

RE: Model import error

Are you using the beta patch? If not, 3ds Max will not work. Maya 2011 should work, but 3ds Max is not yet fully supported.

I'm not using the patch.
But since it's a .DAE file it shouldn't be a problem, right?

RE: Model import error

The .dae needs to be specifically formatted too though. I don't think openCOLLADA is supported on 3ds Max, or at least the one that works with Amnesia.
