Likely a Compiz bug, but since it affects the game, I've decided to post about it here to let people know.

Anyway, it seems the game doesn't register mouse button release event if the button is released the same moment the mouse is in fast motion, that is whenever you're opening doors, cabinets, drawers etc. Another smaller problem that occurs is the mouse cursor likes to jump to top-left corner after picking up a note. It doesn't get stuck there permanently though.

Funny thing is, all of this happens only when running Compiz and only when Rotate Cube plugin is active, the one that enables switching between workspaces. Disable that particular plugin and all problems go away.

I could reproduce those issues on two different computers:

Laptop Lenovo G50-45
CPU/GPU: AMD E1-6010 APU Dual-Core 1,35Ghz with AMD Radeon R2 Graphics
RAM: 2GB
OS: Ubuntu MATE 15.04 Beta1
Open-source graphics driver

Desktop
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 920 Quad-Core 2,8Ghz
RAM: 4GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750Ti
OS: Ubuntu MATE 14.10
NVIDIA proprietary graphics driver 346.47
