Discounting the possibility of delay, SOMA is right around the corner!

The original Facebook post.

The first picture is an album cover unrelated to SOMA, the second is concept art of SOMA ("cabin") that was published some time ago.

And how electricy is working under water... for all these devices...

The use of the word "done" in these recent tweets/Facebook messages is a bit confusing to me. Does it mean the beta will be finished soon or does it mean it's just beginning now?

Probably that the beta is finished as far as testing is concerned. If Early 2015 is still on the table then the beta should be done-done now.

This is what I assumed from reading the messages, but then I started reading "corrections" in the gaming press about it. For instance, this article about the beta news from Rely On Horror has the following update on the top:

Rely On Horror Wrote:Update: Corrected news post to reflect that the game will be entering, not exiting beta status.

Not sure where they got the correction from, or if they just reinterpreted what FG said.

To make matters even more confusing, during the Twitter conversation which followed the Tweet from FG I posted above, someone asked how the feedback from the beta has been, and FG replied "No feedback yet, as beta is not done Wink". Is it normal for beta testers to remain silent until the very last day of testing? If not, I think FG is saying "we don't have feedback yet because we haven't started".

"Done" can be used to mean "finished", which is what I took it to mean originally, but it can also be used to mean "something that will be dealt with in the future" or "something that I will do". In this case, it could mean "the beta is something that I will do in 4 weeks time" which is very different from "the beta will be finished in 4 weeks time".

Maybe someone from FG can just clarify it for us right here: is the beta testing mentioned in the FG social media accounts finished, or is it just starting?

The beta build will (unless something weird happens) be done tomorrow and sent out to testers.

Thanks for the quick response! So, the beta build is done, but the testing is just starting. Now I understand Big Grin
