.log   hpl.log (Size: 44.75 KB / Downloads: 131)

SPECS:
Windows 7 64 Bit
5 GB RAM
nVidia GTX 260
Intel i7 920 @ 2.66 GHz

Sup folks,

Problem: Game runs smooth at and around 60 FPS at all times. Crashes frequently, every 5-10min.

I'm trying to enjoy the game (and what I've seen so far RULES!). I have gone through the SOMA Troubleshooting Guide suggestions and have looked into the nVidia stuttering/FPS threads on here.

Steps to remedy:
1. GPU Drivers/Game are up to date (GPU is up to date, game is 100% verified in cache)
2. Using system recommended settings according to game analysis.
3. DPI 100%, 60 Hertz Monitor and 60 FPS option set in game.
4. Background apps disabled
5. nVidia Control Panel has
i) Shader Cache to OFF
ii) VSync set to ON, In Game Vsync set to OFF
iii) Triple Buffering ON
iv) Thread Optimization OFF
v) Max Prerendered Frames to 1

ii) VSync set to ON, In Game Vsync set to OFF what if you set Vsync to applicaiton controlled and vsync on in the game?

Thanks for the reply, jens. I don't have the option to put Vsync to "application controlled" in my nVidia control panel. There is only "OFF", "ON", "ADAPTIVE", "ADAPTIVE (HALF REFRESH RATE)" and "USE THE 3D APPLICATION SETTING".

So, on top of all this, I set the game to run as Administrator and was able to play earlier smoothly for about 40 minutes. I got to the part where you have to unplug stuff from "SOMETHING" and push buttons and then it froze. Sad

^Here's the hpl.log file again. I don't know if it updates as you play or not. Appreciate the fast work you guys are doing to address issues for everyone.

I tried this suggestion and was able to run for 30-40 minutes. It only messed up when I greedily tried to test the limits of my system but upping the graphics options. THIS MIGHT BE IT! I'll let you know!

Edit: Just crashed 10 min after trying this. This is after playing with the patch/download that just occurred on Steam and after reading the General Performance Thread on Steam Discussions.
