Maybe IRL raznik and nameless have structure gel enterign through their nose/ears/orifices and are dying.

Plausible, except when WAU gets to your organic body, you NEVER die. It's a core principle of SOMA.

No, no, I meant dying as in, before the structure gel got to him.The character seeing his brain being ripped apart by metal arms is his remaining mind and concsious self's way of representing the corruption that's taking hold of his mind and body. Wink IRL, raznik and nameless could be just laying unconcious in normal beds at pathos 2 that are being corrupted by structure gel slowly. Hallucinating the brain-in-jar experience as a way of visualizing what's happening.

If you look in the SOMA folder, there are 'special' folders with a 'teaser_brain', a 'wau_monster', 'teaser_corpse', 'teaser_brain_pedestal', 'teaser_wall_breakable', 'teaser_wau_brain_piece' among other interesting things! Wink I'm sure somebody could make a mod.

As I understood it, every monster in the game is an existing crew member or brain scan. The game explicitly tells us only about Aker and his 3 Proxies, but the first (Worker), second (Catherine calls him "Brute") and the rest monsters didn't appear out of thin air. It just takes some thinking to connect the dots. I'm lazy.

That's one of the reasons why I liked the enemy and note placement in this game vs a machine for pigs. Just the right amount of difficulty and lived-in feel. And the monsters made sense relative to the location, they didn't cheat-spawn. Or at least, it didn't seem that way.

Probably it was part of the original concept, demonstrated by the early beta from 2013 video (found inside the SuperSecret rar). It is from the same time as the gameplay trailer.

Froctional Games revised many aspects of the plot and setting until the final version, so most likely this part was scrapped.

It would be cool if we got to play (or at least watch) that entire early beta to see how far was it actually from the final game!

Yeah! Simon's nightmares were similar to the brain in the jar as well, at least in some aspects.

There's always the chance that a character could have a nightmare similar to the brain-in-jar thing in the Depth series/film. Wink
