How to lower the terrain?

Hello everyone!

I'm trying to learn how to make a terrain in HPL3. Everything is going right but I have a problem: I can't lower the terrain.

And there's an option in the terrain editor: Raise/lower.

The problem is that I can make it raise, but not lower.

Does someone knows how to make the terrain go down?

Thanks.

Make the number negative instead of positive, I think it's the 'hardness'-option.

RE: How to lower the terrain?

When you create a terrain it will be spawned at level zero I think. When you create a terrain you define how tall/low it can be.

The solution to this is to up the terrain to around the center or where you find convenient depending on how much up/down height you need.

The best tool I know for doing this, is the flatten brush. Select it, make sure settings are at their most powerful(no falloff, big harness, big rings etc.). Then input the level you want the terrain at, and start painting until a big enough area for your needs has been upped.

In my case I had a terrain that was 50 tall, so I flattened it to 25.
