RE: Linux 64bit (Yes I will be Making One)

I happen to be running 64bits myself, so +1 for 64bit. As soon as the average ram for a typical PC exceeds 4Gigs, it's time to assume 64bit is the default. I'm not sure we're at that point, but we're close.

RE: Linux 64bit (Yes I will be Making One)

well, actually.. a 32bit OS can access > 4GBs of ram.. Just not your "desktop" versions of windows. the only REAL reason for 64bit applications is so the application itself can access > 4GBs of ram. otherwise there is no benefit. (yeah you can state on the linux installs that you can have less stuff installed by not having to install the 32bit libraries, but with 1 TB drives is that really that bad?).

Anyways.. I've been testing the 64bit build of the game for a few weeks now, and it's running well. So fear not, there will be 32bit and 64bit linux binaries in the installer.

Don't want to look like a troll, but any possibilities of a Windows 64-bit version?

At this point in time, only 64bit builds will be for linux..

RE: Linux 64bit (Yes I will be Making One)

KavazovAngel, tbh i don't think that it will be worth making a 64bit version for windows... as the game won't use over than 4 GB ram... in the linux case many ppl don't want to install the 32bit libs (I'm one of them), some distros don't install 32 bit lib as default... windows for games won't make much difference.
