I'm pleased to announce a new patch for Penumbra is available..

Currently it can be downloaded via http://www.gameupdates.org/

There are 4 different patches depending on which product you have.

Penumbra Collection
Penumbra Overture
Penumbra Black Plague
Penumbra Requiem

NOTE If you bought the Penumbra Collection use the Penumbra Collection patch and NOT the individual patches.

NOTE (2010-05-07) These patches are NOT for the "humble indie bundle". The version of overture provided in the bundle is ALREADY the latest version provided in these patches.

This patch fixes several crashing issues while changing levels and existing the game. It also adds new sounds device selection in the in-game menu.

NOTE Currently the game still distributes all libraries with the install, however if you are running a "current" distribution and are using Pulse Audio the recommendation is to remove all libogg, libvorbis, and libopenal from the game install directory and use you distributions version of OpenAL Soft's library.

Please see this support article for more information.

Developing away on one of
Multiple Macs running 10.6, 10.7, 10.8, and 10.9.
Linux, 8-core AMD, 8GB RAM, Fedora 18, nVidia 450 1GB

    I have Fedora 13 32bit and I didn't know about that.
  1. Does the game override Linux pulseaudio libraries?
  2. Where are the libraries installed by Penumbra? Can I remove them and use the default libs of Fedora?

Yes the game provided libraries override the system libraries. Yes you can remove them and directions are included in the support article linked above.
