Linearity

Hello, big fan of the Penumbra games here. I was just wondering, are the environments in Amnesia going to be mostly linear like those in Penumbra, or is the castle going to be a more 'wide open' environment that you can backtrack and explore?

I'm fine with it being either way but I do think that a large explorable castle would be even more awesome.

Thanks. Big Grin

RE: Linearity

If it would be more like the 2nd option, wide open environment I think it would be more scary X-D

RE: Linearity

I recall Frictional pointed out that the game will be more open and optional than the Penumbra series. That was a looooong time ago though. ^^

RE: Linearity

It will be similar to Penumbra. Allowing for some exploration, but no sandbox like game.

RE: Linearity

While the frontiersman in me curses the lack of a good open-ended horror game, the Penumbra fan in me rejoices. I look forward to the game immensely! Perhaps some day you could come back and do the sandbox thing, after the Penumbra games there's no one I'd rather have do it. Tongue

Thanks for the quick reply, and best wishes for the game.
