Another issue I've been having since the beginning is that whenever my sanity meter drops and I fall to the ground with a loud high pitch sound, my game freezes indefinitely, preventing me from moving, pausing or checking my inventory and leaving me with no sound except the high pitch noise. The only thing I can seem to do is force shutdown. This is a real issue I've been having and wish for advice on it unless the game is suppose to do that, please.

That is a computer-specific issue. Maybe the graphics or sound drivers are old. Or maybe something in the background is causing problems. Or maybe your game files are corrupted. Do a steam file integrity check (reinstall from scratch if no steam) and try resetting game settings (A3). After the problem occurs attach HPL.log as mentioned at the Troubleshooting Guide which I assume you have already read carefully.

Thank you. I will be trying this out. However, I have already found a 'fix' by saving immediately when I go insane, exiting back to menu and reloading my game.
