GTX 1070 Stuttering at ANY hz Setting

Hello! I purchased SOMA during this year's summer sale. I just got around to playing it today. No matter what I do, the game runs horribly. I have a 144hz panel so I first ran it at 144hz. Well, it had this slow stutter too it. I checked with the steam fps counter, I was getting no drops but it was very slow and jerky. I put it down to 60hz and have the same issue. This game sounds really great and I would love to play it, however after trying tons of different things (including renistalling, changing vsync, changing frame limit in .ini etc) I cannot get it to work. I am planning on refunding it if this can't be fixed. From what I can tell, these forums are pretty dead and I doubt any devs will even see this lol. Anyway, I am running Windows 10 64 Bit, GTX1070, i56600k, and 12 GIGS DDR4 RAM so I rightfully should be able to blow this thing away. Any ideas? Thanks in advance



EDIT: I saw adding the hpl log helps, just did that.

Try to verify the integrity of your steam cache and if it tells you it had to reaquire any files, rerun the game and see if that helps. Let us know if it does solve the problem, or if it does not.

Try the things in here first, then you can troubleshoot the graphics card here if none of that works.

I tried verifying and everything in those two threads.

It stays at a solid 60/144 with zero dips but everything stutters, it makes me nauseous

Can you ensure that your nvidia control panel is not forcing any type of VSync, and if it is make it not, then try the game. If it is not, try turning off the VSync in the game and try it then.

Tried disabling it and enabling it as well as adaptive, no difference :/

Can't believe I didn't think of this earlier, your sure your drivers check out? Up to date and everything? have you tried reinstalling them?

All drivers are up to date. I haven't reinstalled anything, but as I said everything else is butter so that can't be the issue. I HAVE seen though I have a pending Windows Update that just showed up. Fingers crossed that fixes it. I don't know why it would but I work in IT, and TRUST ME windows screws stuff up all the time lol

Just finished the update and ran with compatibility for windows 7, no cigar...

I have found if I play with a Xbox 360 controller the stuttering is greatly decreased. not really, but you see less because you aren't turning as much. It's a fix enough for me to play and enjoy the experience but something is very wrong with the engine's optimization.
