I've designed my first wall texture, more to come in the days ahead, I'm looking forward to comments and suggestions, The more ideas the better
Image Reduced by 50% quality and 75% size

if people are interested I may make some tutorials

For the walls and so on, I have made a template that has all the guides and rulers that are ideal for amnesia's editor so there's a 1/1 scale, if others are interested I'll post it up

Now this texture only really works with planes, right?
Making this a static object would require to create a mesh or something, I suppose?

This texture is great for planes, but its purpose will be for a static object.

a standard wall model which will be included in the pack complete with bump texture and model

for more advanced walls a larger texture file would be required

RE: Custom story: courage updates

Ok, I've got a clear idea of whats going to be in the pack now

The pack will have 3 themes available
Abandoned (high level of work required)
- old worn down and broken walls, ripped wallpaper and broken doors

Cottage (moderate level of work required)
- weathered wallpaper soiled carpet and minor damage

Urban (minimal level of work required)
- clean simple colors with flush round trimming ideal for your new apartments

What to expect in the packages?
New walls, ceilings, lamps, random items and relics, rugs, desks and chairs, 3 different dining tables complete with chairs, sofa's, couches, cushions, knives, canned food, boxed food, rubbish and debris to play with

Everything will come with a main texture and a damaged, old texture.

If you have any requests, suggestions or ideas, please post them below

this is some work of what the cottage walls will look like, there will be 2 flavors of wall paper, textured and pattern, I NEED more colors, so suggest colors

I made them quite a while ago.

Awesome, I did a black one and a white one

once on the model and in game with the bump map, they will look very sexy

and those textures will be very handy for detail work
--------------------------------------------------

Right now, I'm tracking down torn wallpaper and peeling for some aged and worn effects to overlay

I can do some concrete textures, the result could fit with the worn look of your wall papers.

Here is a quick result:

That's pretty good, gotta watch out on the wood though, I found using bark as an overlay can give a good worn effect to wood

luckily I came across a nice lil idea which can save me a lot of time looking for references, I came across some old game texture files that have paint peeling and so on, just have to gray scale it, cut it out and transfer it across, all textures will be tileable for 1/2/4 units wide walls

RE: Custom story: courage updates

Just another update, I finished the wall template that has a very nice and professional look to it, there's a JPG 90% quality of the full size, Enjoy it in all its old weathered glory of photoshop goodness

comments welcome

I have also made a normal map texture to accompany this style of wall which is ideal for displacement and bump mapping
Now I'll be able to develop them faster as most of it will be simply copy/edit now
