Solved: 8 Years, 1 Month ago Weird Errors with Amnesia

Hey guys
I downloaded the demo for Amnesia: The Dark Descent. I first tried it on my PC. It installed fine but when i tried to run it, i got a black box error. I couldnt find any way to fix it, so i tried to install the demo on my laptop. It runs there, but when i load a game or start a new game, the entire screen is black, except for the subtitles and the crosshair, which sometimes changes to a hand (there's a door where it changes). Could anyone help me fix this? especially with the error on my laptop, cuz i really want to play it on my laptop Tongue

I've the exact same issue. All the loading graphics are fine, so are subtitles, sound, and the menus when I access them. The only thing I can make out on the screen is a tiny white dot that vanishes when I hit x. Can't find anything in the sticky, and fiddling with graphics settings hasn't had any effect. I initially had the rendered #0 error but that went away when I updated my screen drivers.

Only thing I found out last night is if you're running an Intel based graphics chipset, i3 - i7, you need a new video card, as those don't have certain required OpenGL functions. I picked up an $80 card at BB and now it runs perfectly at high def.

Intel graphics cards, even with updated drivers, at the moment, best you can get is the game to run, but everything is black.

as mentioned earlier in this thread, Intel graphics chip "don't have certain required OpenGL functions"
