RE: Osama Bin Laden is dead.

Few things I can't help thinking...

- It all seems so sudden.
- I've so far only seen messages and no actual info, and only a bad quality picture which did look a little Photoshopped...
- I think it is funny that Obama announces Osama's death, those names match awfully much. O.o

- This is the result of years of detective work surrounding a specific trusted courier, and probably years finding him, to lead to him. It's not sudden.
- You and every neo-con in America.

I don't fear for an attack by them more than usual, their stated goal and effort has always been terrorizing the USA, this isn't going to make them suddenly get serious about it. They have no more serious to get.

Agreed 100% with Hollowleviathan, (especially on bullet point number two. Oh, how that irks me...)

Also, would like to add that the war in Iraq had nothing to do with Osama, and if you were told it was it was either to mask/propagate an agenda (likely) or a wildly off target conclusion.

I'm convinced we went into Iraq for personal emotions, not national security.

And accomplished nothing.

Agreed.

Also agreed, especially as Iraq had nothing to do with it.

Note that I don't really support this 'war on terror' as it's been called, but do think that something needed to be done in retaliation. Hypocritical? Perhaps. But what else are you going to do when 3K civilians get wiped out?

And as someone mentioned earlier, no doubt we're going to face retaliation for it. It's already been announced that they plan on it. Time to sit back and see how it all plays out I guess.

I can get behind that. For instance, I agree that retribution was necessary yet I do not agree with measures such as the Patriot Act (which was a by-product of the "War on terror").

RE: Osama Bin Laden is dead.

I think the term "War of Terror" is more suitable, but then again that suits every war.

Oh FlyingSpaghettiMonster don't get me going on that trite piece of legislature and what it's lead to over the last decade for us.

True. One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter.
