Vista 64 possible?

Solved: 8 Years, 1 Month, 4 Weeks ago Vista 64 possible?

I know about the FAQ section cocerning Vista 64, but theres something odd i found. The original Tech Demo for Penumbra works with Vista 64 just fine! i just found it alittle odd that in the final version you cant launch the game at all. You think there will be a patch to fix this problem? Seems to just be the EXE.

Please check your sound card drivers and see if those are up to date. The big change from the tech demo is the use of OpenAL.

Also, I will try and get hold of a copy of Vista 64 and install it in the coming days to make sure that it can be run. I cannot be sure to fix all bugs though isnce I only have a Nvidia card.

thank you for your reply, i do have the updated sound card drivers, i use the input on my Asus Mobo (which is Realtek sound), i also downloaded the OpenAL from the site but from what im aware Vista doesnt support DS3D Harware Acceleration anymore.

also, to get Vista 64 is only $10 after you buy Vista 32, so it not really to expensive at all.

Also,
Could you upload hpl.log found in "My Documents/Episode 1/"

That way I might see why it won't start.

probably brecause i played it on XP and all, but wont launch in Vista 64.

Specs:
Athlon 64 3500+
256mb 6800Ultra
2GB PC 3200 RAM
Asus Realtek audio

im probably gonna go get a Creative X-Fi card today. the game ran great, i think it crashed once and i cant really recall, i think it was on a loading screen, but that was the only time it happened. everything else was smooth Smile

i tried that earlier when i gave you the first one, nothing comes up. its just how it describes it in the FAQ, you open the exe but nothing happens.

I have Vista Ultimate x64 and played trough the game with no problem. Be sure to update all drivers with 64bit versions.
