Differences between monsters?

Is there a scripted difference between grunts and brutes? I've heard that brutes have worse vision, and I've always considered grunts as really stupid.
I've heard of other rumors too, but I'd like to know the actual difference (if any) in their AI.
Thanks!

RE: Differences between monsters?

You can look into their properties via model editor - user defined variables.

I'm moving, so I packed up my gaming computer with Amnesia a week ago. I'm now using a laptop that I've tried running Amnesia on but it won't work. Do you think the model editor is basic enough to run on... not good laptops?

I don't really know, however they are different monsters in terms of their properties.
If you call sight range A.I., then their AIs are different too.

Meh, it won't hurt to try to see if the model editor works for myself.
Thanks for the info!
Hmm, nope. I get the same error when I run Amnesia. Oh well!

Grunts can see and hear and do enough damage to kill you in three hits. Brutes are blind (no eyes, after all) and find you through their sense of hearing. Most of the time, a brute can kill in one hit and I believe brutes run a little faster than grunts. They can also bring down doors faster.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the damage difference. I knew that, oops.
I assumed brutes were faster than grunts, thanks for the confirmation! I also never thought of the doors.
I don't think brutes are completely blind; as Tanshaydar mentioned, they have different sight range. Pretty sure I've seen a screenshot where there's an eye wedged somewhere in their crater of a face, too.
