RE: An Incredible Idea

imo the only time you should be unable to pause is when a monster has seen you. Any more than this and you're inconveniencing the player.

I think it would work better if you're character is being chased rather than forcing the player to not be able to pause every time a monster is after him. Cause people also pause the game when they're freaked out, we cannot take that away every time. Tongue

The game is fine the way it is. Who cares if they pause the game because they're too freaked out? Mission accomplished.

Unfortunately, there's no function that lets you know when the monster see's you.

Theres no map in your inventory.

Although, making it so you cannot get to your inventory or journel would be nice, I mean, why would Daniel read his journel in the middle of a monster chasing him?

LOL! I just tried it, it's hilarious! People freak out so frigging badly it's unbelievable!

Inserting this into "void OnStart()" will immediately disable the inventory Big Grin Journal and stuff goes aswell. Not the escape button though Sad

SetInventoryDisabled(true);

Seems like kind of a cheap scare tactic to me (disabling it at start, presumably so you can throw a monster in their face right away).

I would, however, give amazing respect to whomever can figure out a way to not have the game pause while your inventory/journal is open. Player can still use those features, but any time spent doing so is time spent standing still while enemies continue moving.

Would also come in handy for something to do while waiting for monsters to patrol away, in the event that we've found a really nice hiding spot.
