Files disappearing

This is the second time this happens to me.

What happened was that I saved a .map file under a folder(maps folder) and it never actually was there but I could load it via the recently opened maps option in the editor. Now I've installed windows in a different partition and I no longer can find such file. Of course I never erased it.

I'm not asking for anyone to give me my file back, but I ask the frictional games team to fix this problem with their editor. For what I can see there has been other people with this problem too.

It isn't a problem with the editor, but with Windows itself. It just doesn't like it when you save things in the Program Files folder.

It's just fine if you save it to desktop or something and then move it into your maps folder, though.
